Would've been standard in Germany if the wall hadn't come down. Communists ruin everything

See, I thought so too. Then I looked it up because I knew someone would correct me if I said so, and it turned out there is some tiny fucking difference which technically means the M9 and 92F aren't the same gun... According to some Futurama-style bureaucrat.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 5:43 am92F is M9, that's just the US military designation. XM9 is basically an advanced 92F, meaning it has a rail and a silencer adapter.
Sig isn't made in Germany anymore and most are part polymer. 9mm isn't a focus for me and so I'd want a cheap, full metal pistol. Beretta is best in class in that regard.

Holy fucking shit, what a meaningless distinction. The Internet wrote:

The 92FS also has a radiused back strap, which the M9 lacks
I used to hate polymer guns until I shot some sig ones. They're really good.
At least in the US, Beretta are not cheap. If you want a full-metal, cheap pistol, you're probably better off here scouting around for a Tokarev or some shit. Of course, it'll probably be a pile of shit but that's not my problem. For the money, I still think Sig are better than Beretta but both are good so it's not a big deal which someone prefers.

Re: The Firearms Thread
Meaningless distinction since there are slightly different versions of the 92FS as well.
Now what good would a fucking Tokarev do me for a 9mm Luger discipline?
The Beretta 92 handles well, is full steel construction and costs, in a high end version, about as much as the CZ75, which I hate.
There are better 9mm pistols but I am not going to spend 3k plus on a discipline I am not all that interested in in the first place. That money would be better spent on a nice revolver or 45ACP.

I forgot it had to be 9mm. I know that some arab fucks made cheap shitty copies of the 92. Helwan, I think. Quite a bit cheaper.

Re: The Firearms Thread
Pretty much all military adopted weapons are subtly different from the standard version. For example an M16 isn't exactly like the Armalite AR-15

It's silly to split hairs about it anyway. When it's mechanically just about the same in every regard, claiming it's a different weapon would also mean that all custom shop models are totally different.
If there's less of a difference than between an AK47 and an AKM it's not worth mentioning.
