Same. That’s why I’m going to personally test every potential candidate until I find the right one. My shop/range is cool about that, they’ll help you find a good fit instead of just suggesting their preferred model. I have to get a feel for the gun, learn where the mechanisms are, how they work differently than other models, rack the slide and pop in the magazine. It’s more than just shooting a few targets, and if I’m dropping a sizable chunk of money on something damn right I’m gonna test it out.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 6:36 pmHandguns are and have always been the most difficult to recommend. I can't even just recommend SigSauer because I've only ever handled high end ones made in Eckernförde so I have no educated opinion on the cheaper carry models made in the USA. I'd like to think they are good but I don't know.
Hand size is also important. I've got glove size 9 (L), which is neither large nor small for a man. If you've got fat hams, tiny manlet hands or long fingers what is comfortable to me might not be comfortable for you.
There are also particular design choices I hate. Particular slide release positions will disqualify a gun for me.

Beretta makes nice pistols. If I ever get a 9mm it'll be a Beretta.

Nope! Max Payne (3 didn't happen)
Re: The Firearms Thread
That's just a Beretta 92F. Only Snake uses the Beretta M9 'Hush Puppy' with the slide lock and XM9 suppressor

Yeah, the Max Payne default gun is the Beretta 92f (two of them), one of the most popular guns in film history. Basically the same shit as the M9, which you also see used a ton in media. I believe the other Max Payne pistol is a Deagle. Dual Uzi was all I ever used in Max Payne 2 tbh. Shit was broken op.
Beretta make cool guns, but it's not better than a Sig P226 imo and it's the same price or more. As good? Eh, maybe. But I prefer Sig.

Dual Beretta were probably the most ammo-efficient guns in the game, along with the pump-action shotgun. But the Uzis killed everything in seconds.

92F is M9, that's just the US military designation. XM9 is basically an advanced 92F, meaning it has a rail and a silencer adapter.
Sig isn't made in Germany anymore and most are part polymer. 9mm isn't a focus for me and so I'd want a cheap, full metal pistol. Beretta is best in class in that regard.

I want to find out if the wipe-based suppressor is really that quiet and if the slide lock really does anything in the way of reducing the gun noise.
