Authors and writers can have somewhat weird ideas when it comes to adapting Current Year cultures into their vision of the future. Native Americans tend to go back to their roots (instead of being fully assimilated into the greater Burger culture), and there are a quite a few Neo-Japans out there with a shitload of samurai talking about honor and seppuku (like say BattleTech, and Rifts of course). Neo-Germany on the other hand loves to bring back nobility (an almost universal constant in both Western and Nippon media).

My favorite part is not just that he acts like a shitlord and shuts up that weak, limey voiced director. It's also the fact that he's right!
Anyone who who says Shatner is 'overacting,' doesn't understand acting. He turns what would be corny or garbage into something worthwhile and entertaining.
