Yes and Hollywood (hell filmmakers in general) think the average moviegoer is an idiot. To be fair a lot of them are mention JFK to a group of people and there's always the one person who believes the Oliver Stone film was what really happened.Keith Chegwin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 12:52 amTo be honest, while I see where you're coming from, the movies have always played fast and loose with history (see: Braveheart) which is why only an idiot would look to them as any kind of historical reference

A Quiet Place (2018)
First things first, this movie was *white*, not any cultural enrichment at all, wow. But of course it had stronk womyn to compensate that, gotta keep it real in the current meme year. All female characters were stronk while men and boys were stupid and weak. Watched this with my waifu and she absolutely hated it because of its plot holes and silly decisions the characters made, I guess stonk womyn didn't pander her like the writers apparently wanted, I managed to suspend disbelief and enjoyed the foolishness of it all. Good ending too. Solid 7/10

The only people these anthropomorphized virtue signals pander to is virtue signalers, who somehow think a Current Year movie with women and/or non-white people in the cast is so revolutionary that it will usher in the next step in human evolution.

Entertainers in China and Russia have to advocate the public narrative approved by the state, they have to have certain opinions on certain matters or their careers will end. Makes me wonder sometimes, is it really that different in the western world?

Entertainers in these countries do this because the government is breathing down their neck. Entertainers in the west do it because everyone else in their industry is breathing down everyone else's neck.

Re: Movie Thread
They were inspired by Hidden Figures, a movie about the black women who really sent man into space with their genius and black vaginas. Even Neil Armstrong refused to go until he was sure a strong black woman had done the calculations. Of course he was dead when this bullshit came out so I guess we can say anything we want about him because it's not like he's a real actual historical figure.TheManWithNoPlan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 01, 2018 11:29 pmIt's honestly some 1984 shit Hollywood are using movies as a tool to rewrite history so future generations believe their version of events over what actually happened.
I just finished watching Love & Mercy. Great film, great performances but my god the Brian Wilson story is depressing.

What's the worst example of Hollywood revisionism that springs to your mind? For me it's Trumbo. They took a fucking Stalinist who was using literature and cinema as propaganda tools and turned him into a harmless socialist who dindu nuffin. Hell, there's all sorts of revisionism surrounding the blacklist era. Yes, McCarthy trampled over free speech and was wrong but a ton of the people he went after were hardcore commies who were trying their hardest to brainwash America. But whenever the blacklist comes up it's always presented as pure paranoia that targeted innocent angels who stood for freedom of speech.
Re: Movie Thread
But of course Marxists think Communism was good. Remember Olivia Wilde just reveling in being called Marxist? You know it got her wet. She probably flicked off to old Stalin speeches later that night.

Re: Movie Thread
They love being called Marxist but bring up the atrocities that Stalin committed and they'll recoil and screech "NOT TRUE COMMUNISM!" What disgusts me is a ton of the old commies, Dalton Trumbo is just one example, were outright supporting genocide and no one ever talks about this. It's always swept under the rug and we're lead to believe that the old commies were no different than modern day socialists.
