Over time they flanderized their characters so much that now they're basically creating their own series. I love how Kaiser Neko doesn't even know how they're going to handle the, "Goku is a bad dad," thing considering the scenes that are coming up in the Cell fight. Really makes you wonder how much effort they put into actually abridging rather than thinking up, "funny jokes."
Shouldn't be too hard, just make it to be Goku killed himself and doesn't want to come back because he doesn't want to deal with the whole "sent his son to fight a monster" type of deal. Pretty sure they are going with that too.

And that is one of the down sides of this abridged stuff, specially in this DBZA stuff that they are trying to make it on their own, there is no surprise, we know what is going to happen, the best they can do is a silly spin on it. And considering that they are taking their own lore so seriously, not even that.

And the FF7 thing was fine... but there is only so much you can do with top down game footage. Not to metion they over abuse setup A, misdirection B punchline, as in, in a scene Cloud says he is the bravest soldier ever, dry cut to him sobbing over his fear of heights of some shit.... but maybe the format doesn't allow for much else... who knows....

Not only is that a terrible way to handle it but that's incredibly unfunny and far too on the nose. It's also entirely out of their own version of Goku's character. He's not smart enough to feel guilt. The dude can barely hold a grudge. They made a whole joke about it.

Their FF7 series is far from fine. It's unfunny and the characters don't even resemble their in-game characters which throws the idea of it being a parody completely out of the window. Furthermore, the format allows for almost anything they want as long as they're actually doing a proper parody and not tossing their own shitty jokes and characters into the FF7 plot, which is what they did.

Look at early DBZA. Notice how they made fun of the more extreme aspects of everyone's character. Now look at recent DBZA and their FF7 series and tell me what, exactly, they're making fun of.

DBZA should have ended a long time ago, it's mediocre internet kahntent thats aged like milk.

It should have stopped after the Frieza saga, like DBZ itself coincidentally enough. One of the reasons Frieza is the most popular villain is because that's probably when most realized the seasons/bad guy fights were too. fucking. long. They waited for the Frieza saga to end and then afterwards most just ran away en masse because like hell they're getting sucked into that shit again.

He may have caught it at the same Bilderberg-Illuminati meeting as Prince Albert in a Can. I guess lizardmen aren't immune.

Abridged shows should be over and done with ASAP, before the "creators" get too attached to the project or the actual copyright owners become aware of you.

But because they took so long and became too attached, they pulled a Linkara in that they took all their jokes and skits and somehow created their own "deep" plot.

They’re probably going to stop after they finish with Cell. I remember seeing somewhere that was where they had planned and cast characters out to.

Yugioh GX Abridged ended the right way: a fat man farting, then a retarded intro to a retarded atomic bomb explosion, the end.

Work that could've been done in about one year stretched over a ten year period more like.

Side projects are still kahntent, though. Spoony doesn't even do that.
Don’t. Tell me. How to edit.
It's still in the rendering queue.

No, they've made it clear they already have plans for Buu. This would have been the perfect time to stop but where could they go? If that official dub they made ends up taking them into the pro space, cool, but that's no guarantee of steady work.

If they had done the rooster teeth method where they made a movie and cut it into ten or so episodes, they could have put that on its own channel with ads and had something that could potentially support itself. If they'd gotten one out a year when they started the patreon instead of doing that FF7 thing or renting a studio that they don't really need, it could have become successful enough that this really could have been the final episode and they could bow out on a big finale.

Of course, like most nobodies, they were too short sighted and stupid to do that.

Nah, it's cause they're fucking idiots who can't make anything unless the story is done for them, and they've been sucked off by so many fans they don't want to hire a real writer
