Star Trek: Beyond is good, but Jar Jar didn't direct it.

The 21th century has yet to produce a good Trek movie.

Beyond was ass. The only decent JJ Trek was Into Darkness and only because Alice Eve is hot and the movie was competently directed unlike the shaky-cam mess that was the previous movie.

Into Darkness was atrocious - I don't see what the issue with Beyond is beyond edgelord 'everything is terrible' spergation. Not as huge a reliance on "things you know" as the other movies or Picard, good pace - cast is good.
