I think that theaters will come back because people like to go out.

You think that because you're old. Theaters are dying. The great irony is that movieblob loves theaters despite constantly claiming that "outdated things and people need to just die."

Theaters are ridiculously overpriced. For the price of one ticket, you can buy a movie and own it forever on release. If every movie went to simulcast or whatever the fuck you call that, we'd see a lot of consoomers buying the digital release instead. The "experience" of watching a movie in theater is largely shit. Loud assholes, dickheads on their cell phones, children making noise, junk food and trash residue all over everything etc. Just get a cheap big tv if you want a large picture.

The pozzed shit they show in theaters nowadays makes it doubly not worth going. Maybe I'd see your point if theaters ran kurosawa or eastwood movies. Or anything worth watching.

Seeing and hearing a movie in the theater is still something that can't be recreated at home. Even quiet stuff like The Courier benefits from it.
