I'll give you that it's the best representation of what Star Wars as a whole is. If somebody were to ask me what to watch to get an idea, it would be the perfect example.
Showing the 70s movies would be a grand misrepresentation at this point. It would be like giving someone the one good song a band has written that has made ten shit albums full of garbage and then pretending the odd song out is a good example of what music they make.

Dead on. The OG trilogy is okay space opera shit. Everything after is either mediocre or flat out trash. And to think that they intend to make another movie with Rey, oy vey!

Both were huge with kids in the late 1970s.
Both are partly characterized by over-the-top merchandising machines
Both have a 1978 TV special that's now considered an embarassment
Both had blockbuster reunions
Both treated their original "cast" badly when they brought them back and displeased old fans
Both feature a big, tall character with fake hair
Both are about equally relevant in 2023
