Well, Dredd still is one of the better capeshit released within latest 10 years or so. Maybe that fooled you weebs to think it actually was a good movie. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

One thing I forgot to say about the movie: Dredd is supposed to be a judge, jury, and executioner, I was expecting to see him executing criminals begging for their lives, but he only kills in self-defence or to protect somebody else! Like all the other capeshit-heroes do. Where's the Dredd? Where's the originality?

OK, he executes MaMa at the end, but even that is so unsatisfactory as the actress acts so bland in the scene. But maybe it would have been too much to show Dredd throwing a screaming woman begging for her life from a balcony I guess they already were at a verge of getting NC-17.

Even after they've all been disarmed, there were plenty of moments when the main character could have retrieved a weapon from a corpse.

Dredd's professional pride prevented him of using other tools than his own!

I liked Dredd a lot. It was a great little action movie. It's a shame the movie came out the same time as The Raid Redemption. Both films are excellent examples of their genre, but people inevitably compared the two and felt The Raid was better. I think I prefer Dredd a bit more, but that's because it feels more realistic, despite the futuristic tone. All martial arts movies struggle with believability in a world where guns exist. Even after they've all been disarmed, there were plenty of moments when the main character could have retrieved a weapon from a corpse. A movie like Dredd or The Warriors would have shown that happening.

They're alike because Dredd took 3 years to make after the screenplay went online and those Thai faggots ripped the idea off wholesale.

Dredd is okay, but the Stallone movie is better in most ways. It's just plain fun, has big costumes and effects, and feels like a big grand Hollywood blockbuster. (Plus prime Diane Lane in tight spandex.) As said, MaMa is a terrible villain who doesn't actually do anything but sit around looking depressed, and the action is too "indy film" for me. The chick playing Anderson is cute, but the tone is too deadly serious...

And Jesus fucking Christ, it takes place in a post-apocalyptic future over 100 years from now but everyone is driving 2011 cars and using 2011 cellphones and the future looks suspiciously like modern South Africa.
