For semifinals i think croatia, sweden, and brasil are gonna be there. not sure about urgay and negros, urgay has a very good defense since they got his coach like 12 years ago and its very difficult that they concede spaces like argentina did aganist france, and they handle pressure very well, and the counterattack is even more effective with the strikers they have (cavani choked a lot in previous tournaments but it isn't the case anymore). France have good players but it haven't convinced me in the games i seen, let's see how they can handle uruguay defense.

Sweden have been overrated for about a century now. England may not have won convincingly but Sweden didn't have a single convincing game at all.
So far I'd say Croatia and Brazil have the best chances to win this whole thing.

Mexico were already qualified when the Ikeamen smashed them. Sweden are technically shit but reasonably well-organised. It'll be a close game, but it's the best chance we've had at reaching the semis in my lifetime. As fun as le Coming Home shitposting is I'd consider the semis a huge overachievement for this team.

The "It's Coming Home" shitposting is off the charts at the moment, part of me wants England to win against Sweden because you'll start thinking you can win the whole thing and then get fucked by Croatia. It's funnier when you Poms have some hope before your disappointed, you still expect nothing but are starting to think "Maybe? Could this be?" without fully committing.

Croatians have the same unfounded optimism England do. They haven't beaten anyone of note yet either (fucking >Argentina don't count, they are trash) and will be thinking they have an easy route to the final too.

I will admit if Kane gets injured we are fucked. It'd take some contrarian faggotry to pick a better striker in the world right now than him. Really it's the first time we've legit had one of the best players in the world since Gascoigne, so I think that's where a lot of the optimism comes from.

It’s a close game so far between Urgay and negros, it has been entertaining so far, no one parked the bus and in general both teams are defending ok. The second half should be interesting with urgay losing 1-0.
