Extra Credits (aka Extra Harassment)

Didn't find a thread about this group of nobodies, but shits going down and I sense it heating up sometime in the very near future.

Basically Extra Credits is a channel on youtube about vidya bullshit and they also have some side shit about History and sometimes other shit. Long story short is a guy named Daniel Floyd started this up, and over the years it became a larger thing with him and some friends/employees. They were on and associated with The Escapist and Penny Arcade for a while.

Dan retires from this all in 2017 to do his own thing and left it to his buddy James.

The team's official response to GamerGate when it was happening was one of scorn and espousing the belief it was a hate mob against women and minorities and everyone should stand against it.

However one of their guys had apparently chased a woman out of their company and he got "investigated"

Uh, I kinda liked their history content. But of course it has to be a bunch of "muh harassment" nannies. And, as every single one of these types, they have their own "muh harassment" skelletons in the closet.

Their vidya content is fucking awful. Their history stuff I enjoy, although people with more knowledge than me have told me it's basically "guy reads wikipedia articles to you: the show."

But their vidya stuff is what they're known for and it's impressively bad. I could go over why and I'll probably end up sperging about it here at some later date. If you just assume whatever they tell you about video games is wrong, you'll be off to a good start. They love to sniff their own farts about how artistic and meaningful bideo james are supposed to be.

Extra Credits takes allegations of workplace harassment very seriously.

To verify the claim, Extra Credits hired an independent HR firm to investigate the matter, and was ready to abide by all findings, including firing anyone found responsible of committing misconduct.

I hate it when people like these pretend to be a real company.
It's always like "hey we're cool and chill, bro wassup?" at first, but as soon as controversy happens they suddenly go behind their "We here at Totally A Real Corporation take these claims seriously and blahblah" shield. You can't fucking be a group of super cool online bloggers and then suddenly be a serious business when it suits you.
