Keyboard is actually not that bad of a choice as well. Once you're used to it you practically have a hitbox and can pull of shit that is normally not possible.

You can also do jank shit in Tekken and in Street Fighter too with charge characters

Top level niggers need their special manufacturing error snowflake pads to be able to play, which is super fine because Nintendo's factory accidentally modified those controllers, but anything else is haram. You're not even wrong. I never really played fightan games on pc though, so I'll have to figure out if I can deal with keyboard or if I want to use some specific-ass controller.

The games I really want to play against other people are 3rd Strike (I'll be shit), Alpha 3 and Vampire Savior (I'll be shit.) I wish Vampire Savior had come back with sprite art and some balance patches. The version people play in tournament doesn't have Donovan or Pyron.

I find it's an odd choice that Alpha 2 isn't on the compilation. That was played the most in tournaments by far and is often better regarded than 3.

Yeah, there is some controversy I guess. I mean, I know Bafael thinks Alpha 2 is just as broken as Alpha 3. I don't know enough about either game to say that, but if Alpha 2 is broken, it's probably broken in a different way that most players find less annoying than vism infinites.

But the more I think about it, most fightan games are pretty broken and unbalanced. Third Strike is very unbalanced. Parry doesn't fix Chun, Yun and Ken being so Top at all. Seeing 4 Sasquatches in Vampire Savior Top 8 is pretty infuriating tbh.

That's part of why I like Ultra SF IV even though it's still SF IV. It has a much wider range of viable characters and the ones that are Top are not nearly so OP as top characters in older games. Even a character like Ultra SF IV Juri or Ibuki, who is probably top, barely gets any tourney play because there's a wide range of characters that can all compete in tourney.

Alpha 2 does seem more balanced based on what I've seen in tourney videos, but a lot of my mains are not in the game. It's still weird Crapcom would go for 2 versions of SF2 rather than Alpha 2 and Alpha 3.
