They can't lose the video, it's all over the internet, and it was on the news. At best, if the prosecutors were cunty enough to charge, they might argue that it's prejudicial and should be excluded. But, even then, you've got the testimony of the intended victim and about a dozen other witnesses who saw this guy pull out a knife, and all the prosecution's got is a dead nog, probably with a criminal record.

If the guy who did the recording actually did the right thing there's no way he'd be charged. Even here we haven't completely lost our minds.
