Wait, really? Did Lucas have any kind of bussiness relationship with Roy's Disney or something? Was it via Indiana Jones somehow?

They had worked together on the Captain EO attraction. Which was well received, so Lucas was happy to let the Imagineers come into his Ranch and collaborate on other rides and projects. Star Tours, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, and so on.
At the time he was more than happy to work with who he thought were amazingly talented visionaries and creative storytellers. Compare that to the current version (where he lost his mind sometime in 1996): the "white slavers."
...and still: Spoony did nothing.

ACTUAL LEE, ILM did work with Disney animators on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Also, John Lassiter (a former Disney animator) worked at Pixar when it was still owned by Lucas.
George Lucas and Walt Disney actually have some similarities. Both are better concept artist than directors. Both were aided by close friends (Marcia Lucas and Ub Iwerks respectively). And they left a major impact on filmmaking (special effects and animation). However, Walt Disney was smart enough to quit directing and never go back.
