Here in burgerland Neo Geo was non existent outside of bowling alleys.

I still stand by my point that neo geo sucks because any of those games can be played better on mame, and older fighting games still are shit. Sure theirs metal slug and shit thats cool but no ones playing world heroes 2 today.

How do it feel to be both more wrong than ASS and Rushy combined and gayer than two guys fucking on a rainbow unicorn?

Objectively speaking, Super Turbo might be one the best 2D fighting game ever made. Everything is super polished/balanced, it's hard to nitpick or criticize that game. I don't think SF brand power is the reason that game is still popular to this day. It's the quality.

That being said, personally I think Night Warriors is mechanically/aesthetically better than ST and I like SNK game from mid 90's (like Samurai Shodown 2) better though. Super Turbo feels kinda bland compared to it's more rough and flashy peers of the same era.

MAME supposedly has noticeable input lag issues thus can't be technically better than the real one. I read somewhere Retroarch with MAME core (?) minimizes that issue though. Maybe I should try that emulator one day to beat Gladiator.

The sad thing is that even though Brian May was involved, it's not even the robot fighter with the catchiest OST. That belongs to the PC Gaming Master Race.

I think my favorite capcom fighters are Alpha 3 MAX, USFIV, JoJo and Darkstalkers 3.

Darkstalkers 3 in particular is kind of underrated. You don't see tournaments that often and the game is amazingly good.

Now that was some serious crap. I had a pirated copy and was wondering if there was some kinda copy protection at work that made the game near impossible. Nope, that's just how incredibly shit the game is. Worst fightan I've ever played.

I paid about $100 for a chipmodded and consolized MVS and got Garou for it for about $30. Then again, I got my Neo Geo stuff before the hipsters came in to inflate the prices on all kinds of old consoles. And I got it from a (now gone) German hardcore SNK fanboy forum where the trading area was intentionally hidden and only accessible via invite. So there were only Neo Geo guys selling to Neo Geo guys to prevent inflation by random fuckboys.

MAME isn't all that great for Neo Geo. Retroarch works much better. And the true cult classic for the Neo Geo is and always will be Windjammers.

The neo geo port collections are fucking terrible. They have load times everywhere and I hear some of the fighting games even have added input delay.

I'm not talking about single-game full arcade ports. I'm talking about those collections of games. Garou runs perfectly well on my PSTV, but SNK volume 1 collection sucks shit.
