Re: Star Whores: Diverse Agenda
That's just because they have sub-par TV show writers and because instead of a man with a vision and passion they hire some random Jew to direct for every movie.
It's like they've got a lottery box of directors they just draw a random card from.
"Uh, let's see, we have some 'J.J. Abrams' here. IMDB the guy. What's he known for? Lost? Super whatnow? Oh, that Star Trek movie. Eh, I guess he'll do. So who's next; let's draw another one. 'Rian Johnson'? Looper? What was that again? Oh, yeah, that Bruce Willis movie. Fair enough, why not."

This is why I hate prequels. Eventually they keep filling in gaps until they end up explaining ever single solitary character trait we know about someone from original films, etc. Some things are just better left to legend.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2018 5:32 pmThat's basically the main flaw of any prequel: They try to explain too much (especially in regards to iconic villains) where mystery and headcanon was perfectly sufficient.
You Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, in the beginning we find out Indy got his whip, his scar, his hat, and his fear of snakes all in the course of one 10 minute hijinks? That's what this stupid Han Solo movie will be like.

Re: Star Whores: Diverse Agenda
I liked the Darth Plagueis scene in ep 3. It was must have been ghost written by someone else-- I'm pretty sure the scene was one of those done in reshoots-- and had the best acting of any scene in the entire prequel trilogy. If you watch the movie and ignore the EU, you'll see that the dialogue was kept very subtle and vague. It's never said outright that Plagueis was his master and Sidious was the apprentice that killed him.

Alright so i dumbly brought the guy up because (i am now certain that was sarcasm i again didn't get) someone was hoping Palpatine was trained because of night terrors related to Aizen.
Anyways the only good Star Wars things outside of the OT were some of the games. By the way you know TLJ writing is awful when certain classes in TOR have better written storylines

Most Star Wars games I touched where better than prequel and nuquel stuff. Is nuquel even a word?

Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.

Re: Star Whores: Diverse Agenda
Small consolation, as it's not because of River Phoenix that I hated it. The entire sequence just added absolutely nothing to the movie, whilst taking away from Indiana Jones by adding these dumb, overly contrived origins for things that didn't need an origin. Maybe he just likes fedoras. Maybe he just hates snakes. Maybe he just thinks a whip is a useful weapon when you're traversing mostly jungles and deserts
How George Lucas has had a career absolutely baffles me.
