I tried my best to make sense of it. The skin was damaged in Return of the Jedi and Luke had to cover his hand up with a glove. (I swear they had this happen because Michael Jackson was popular at the time.)
But ya know, I always assumed Luke would have got it fixed sometime after Return of the Jedi, when all the fighting was over.

Who also had a master at some point and so on, yeah. But it's nothing you need to spell out or even invent some character with a laughably dumb name.
There's stuff you're best off not explaining. You'll only wind up with dumb shit like Mediclorians. Nigger, it's space magic. There's zero reason to explain it. There's also no need to explain the Emperor's existence. There were Sith at some points; guys were evil; power corrupted them; Palpatine somehow is one. That's perfectly fine. Zero need for some master. Fuck what Yoda said. When there are zero Sith left and one pops up you don't suddenly need a master for the guy. Somebody is bound to be the first and when that stuff was possible to just come up in the past it's possible in the future as well.

It's the same thing with the dumb prophecy about "bring balance to the force". How's that seen as a good thing at a point where the dark side is completely gone? Who wrote that shit? Oh yeah, dipshit Lucas wrote that shit. There's a new surge of EU and Episode I-III apologists now just because Disney managed to shit the bed even worse than Lucas did.
The prequel trilogy was shit, the EU was shit and Disney making another shit trilogy doesn't change anything about that. It's just even more shit to avoid.

That's basically the main flaw of any prequel: They try to explain too much (especially in regards to iconic villains) where mystery and headcanon was perfectly sufficient.

(They also love to end with the exact status quo of the first main movie, as if nobody did anything of value between the two movies; but that's a different flaw.)
