Hehe, you know me too well. But say what you will, the movie got me to read the books because I figured I ought to read the books first before watching it. Naturally, my inclination to not watch movies might just mean I'll never actually see the movie but hey, found a series of books that's actually as good as people claim.
That's really rare for me. Mostly, I find people's opinions to be misaligned with mine. I've ditched The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy after less than 200 pages because I found it tedious and boring. I've ditched Discworld during the book that comes after Mort. Hard SciFi and SciFi with fantasy are usually my genre if I ever read a novel but when I find myself just phasing out mentally*, I drop that shit.

I tried to read Hitchhiker and dropped it as well. Did you ever read Foundation? The first three books are really excellent imo.

I must have read more Dune than I remembered, because you randomly say shit about the novels and then I think "oh yeah, I remember that happened." Pretty sure I read through Children, but it was a long time ago. My dad had a collection of paperback science fiction novels some 2000 volumes strong and I would read those as a kid. Star Wars EU books and asimov taught me how to read lel.

It's surprising how negative the reaction has been. Usually it takes a good 2-3 years for an opinion on a star wars film to turn. That just solidifies in my mind how especially bad this new one is.

Going through some some videos on JewTube seeing millennial fags trying to justify the shit narrative of TLJ by claiming how subverting expectations was "genius" and "innovative", with some even comparing it to Hideo Kojima's method of "betraying your audience."

The Last Jedi was a complete waste of time, it was too long nothing anybody did in the entire film mattered and it negated pretty much everything set up in the Force Awakens.
