Luckily, I've had 30 years experience of hating Harry Potter and avoiding the films, so it's pretty easy to ignore that IP and treat it as dead to me.

Yes, even as a kid I didn't like it. I started reading the first book and I wasn't enjoying it, and I can't remember precisely why at that age, I just know that it put me off permanently. As you can tell, I was a super popular kid at the time.

If they really wanted to put their money where their mouth is, they would quit. You can't transform it or, more specifically, who it funds and supports.

I can understand somehow being ignorant of it, somehow. But at this point, it is complicity.

I have no idea why Harry Potter has this spell over people, but I cannot stress enough: don't watch it, don't support it, don't talk about it. The work has been weaponized in a way we have never seen before, and you can't rationalize or justify being an exception. Drop it, tell others to do the same
