People can't accuse Rumiko of anything because her mangas never actually go anywhere.
True. Ranma’s rnding wasn’t even an ending
You can tell the good Takahashi mangas from the bad ones based on which ones have an ending. If they have a real ending then they're good.

Lum - pretty close to a real ending. Ataru admits he loves Lum, which resolves the main romantic conflict.
Maison Ikkoku - as real an ending as you can get. Godai gets married and has a kid. The final panel is returning to the titular Maison Ikkoku to wrap up everything in a bow.

I don't remember Mermaid Saga but I think that one has a real ending too.

I'd bet the shorter ones do. I'd hope at least.

Seems Lum has the same ending as Ranma 1/2 by the looks of it. Hopefully that ending was better than 1/2's. She wanted to to keep it wacky by preventing the marriage to Akane at the end.

Seems Maison Ikkoku and Inuyasha are the only ones with a proper ending

Let’s be real no one had an issue with Kenshin being with Kaoru until the pedo accusations came out. that’s also funny, considering that nobody fucking bitches about inuyasha getting with Kagome at all. But I guess Rumiko Takahashi would have to have the same accusations, Love it against her for people to think her manga romance choices are problematic. Not that they ever were if you for one second even enjoyed them
For whatever reason, characters that are either ageless or age really slowly seem to be exempt from normal complaints about being way older than the person they're in a relationship with. A 16-year-old being with a regular 30-year-old will get complaints, but if it's a 300-year-old magic guy, people just shrug as long as they look young.

For as much as people back in the day complained about how Twilight was glorifying bad relationships, even the critics tended to not complain much about the fact the book is about teenager being in a relationship with a guy who's around 90 years old, probably because Edward looks like a teenager.

In Twilight that whole thing just made the story much funnier. Imagine a 90yr old, or rather a young man that has lived for 90 years, would find this dumb chick totally void of character interesting.

Didn’t people complain about dragon maid? That’s the one with the 400 year-old dragon in the body of a little girl or something right? The one that’s always pointed to as to why anime is pedo bait and why weebs are pedos?

So I guess ageless doesn’t matter as long as it’s a dude

Kobayashi Dragon Maid is annoying because two actual children characters (Kanna's school mate and the boy who summons Quezacoatl) are hyper sexualized as a joke. It's completely unnecessary and uncomfortable, and I've only watched it through clips because of that.

The evil dark dragon becoming very comfortable living as a human with Kobayashi's incel otaku coworker is a good bit, though. It's also surprising not as demeaning as you would expect if it was written by you average Western author - the Nipponese author knew going too harsh would offend his target audience.
