They have merchandise rights. I'm sure Kirkman profits as well but absolutely everything has the "amc" branding as well these days. The terrible Stern pinball machine does as well. Possibly the worst and ugliest pin they have built this millennium.

Pretty much nobody is happy with how the show was handled and that it rapidly declined in quality.
Having read a few issues of the comic it's based on I'd say it's pretty faithful. Because the comic is total garbage and so is the show.

As you see, the show perfectly emulates it. Outstaying its welcome about a fifth into its run and just stubbornly carrying on.

I read the comic. Never watched the show. Comic is shit. I decided it was shit without ever being exposed to the crappy tv show. Walking Dead is just a soap opera wrapped in a zombie skin. It's Days Of Our Lives for manchildren.

It's a miserable and gay soap opera. Not like Spartacus: Blood and Sand which was an awesome and cool soap opera.

You can have a show with most characters being shitbags. But they have to be entertaining or interesting shitbags.

I'll again mention how shit garbage the pinball machine is as well. Fits the show perfectly and I was very glad when it was gone from tournament rotation. Just a total mess in every regard.

"The Walking Dead" helped spawn that zombie fad that normies memed years ago. I hate the franchise just from that alone.
