There are also certain days/times around here where the local rest homes or care facilities will bring all the seniors to the store. You want to see a gerontocratic hellscape, there you are.

Replacing annoying old people with annoying young people is what is known as "starting a family."VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 7:34 amWouldn't that just replace the annoying young people with annoying old people?

To make headlines as a family annihilator when you've used the Bowflex too much and decided to powerbomb and flying elbow your wife and offspring.

I know there are a lot of Sarah Wilsons and Spoonies out there that self-diagnose themselves as having PTSD years ago. But I'm wondering if those lockdowns and the fearmongering actually have given large swaths of the population legit PTSD?
I mean, I legitimately thought either I or a family member was going to die during that pandemic lockdown. What was it, two and a half years? The social distancing has made me terrified of crowds. If some fucker in a grocery store starts coughing I get the fuck out of there.
So this doesn't surprise me at all.
Suicides hit record high last year when nearly 50,000 Americans took their own lives
The lockdowns plus 24/7 clownworld fearmongering must take its toll on people.

If you didn't tune off from all the social media and mainstream media's abhorrent fearmongering, I suppose you'd eventually go completely crazy, like some of my acquaintances who were imagining total lockdown with the army handing rations to people at their homes wearing hazmat suits (which fully solidified in my mind that normalfags don't know nor care about logistics; that also explains why they love nonsensical feel-good ideas like "everybody should consume organic-only foods!", nevermind it being logistically impossible and environmentally damaging).
I didn't care about staying home more than I usually do. I went for walks with my brother to get some exercise, I saw some dudes playing football in a park almost every single afternoon, and lots of people just chilling on their porches. I tried to tell my parents to avoid going do groceries every day like they used to, but they had none of it, so I didn't insist. It ended up just fine - the only person to catch covid was my brother, but only in 2022, when the virus was weaker and he barely felt anything. But we all tuned off from the end-of-the-world bullshit pretty soon, and that helped a lot. I did have to cut off contact with the craziest elements in my social circles, though, or else I'd end up yelling at their doomer shit anyway.

I wasn't really all that affected aside from having to dial down my already sparse visits to gastronomy establishments

My income dropped by like 60% in 2020 so that was fun. Gave me a chance to catch up on pornography though.

I had to live off my savings for about half a year longer than I wanted to and one of my friends went absolutely batshit. That's about it for how the lockdowns have affected me personally.
That some people actually didn't visit their family or friends because of the coof is absolutely nuts to me.
