Christopher Lee is in the prequels because Peter Cushing is in "A New Hope". Lee and Cushing are a pair in many classic Hammer horror movies. I think Lucas cast Lee in the prequels to "rhyme" with the original movies.

All that said - I can’t pretend I hate Episode 3. As a dark epic it mostly fails - but George’s dialogue does a 180 where it’s so bad it’s kind of quotable - and I can’t consciously say I hate a movie where I can quote 50% of the script.

The best part of Episode 3 was Anakin progressing from defending Palpatine from execution (plausible) to him pledging fealty to the Sith (unlikely, but he was light on options at that point I guess) to him personally slaughtering a bunch of elementary school children that knew him. It wasn't like Palpatine had him overload the temple's power reactor or something, it was full on Adam Lanza mass child murder.

Makes that force ghost scene in ROTJ all the sweeter.

Back when there were only three movies I thought the Vader redemption arc was because he was in a Pinhead or Spawn situation where he wasn't completely devoid of free will but still a "slave" to the circumstances. But, the prequels show that as a Jedi he was the equivalent of a dirty cop and there was a period post-Sith but pre-suit where wanton murder was fine. And anytime he shows up in one of the Disney shows or films he's tearing out someone's eyeballs. What's ever "good" about Anakin? He loved his mom and became super obsessed with the first woman that sucked his penis?
Anyway the force is obviously very lenient when it comes to murder.

I never understood that leap in logic either, nor why one would possibly write it that way.
Have him slaughter the Jedi that he thinks wronged him, have clone troops massacre the kids (why send your right hand man for that anyway when any random dude could just suplex and powerbomb the toddlers) and have that be part of Vader's complex.

Ya know, being part of something terrible, sharing responsibility, killing the Jedi leading to the younglings being unprotected. That would've been enough and could've been something eating away at him.
Instead of him collecting more single digit boy bodies than the Pope personally.

It would definitely have made more sense if Anakin killed Jedi he personally thought wronged him. Rather than literal toddlers. But George is a fucking brainlet and his prequel trilogy reflects what he thinks "good writing" is.

George basically wasted the first two prequels on stupid bullshit. The dumbfuck had to skip over the Clone Wars because he had no more screentime to tell that story. Then he had to plow through Anakin's fall to the Dark Side all in one movie, when that should have been happening throughout the trilogy.

The clone wars shit is just hilarious. They made them look like the fucking stormtroopers-they're not even clones of cool aliens or bio monsters. The "war" is between copypasta australian dude x100000000 and robots who say "roger roger."

You couldn't come up with a less compelling two sides if you tried.
