I sometimes wonder what it's like to have such shit taste. Call it morbid curiosity. What would it be like to be born tasting no difference between a shit sandwich and filet mignon? Star Wars is mostly bad - the shows and video games have a better track record, granted, but with the movies you have two great ones, two really bad ones and five potential guilty pleasures - but still technically not good movies.
You either accept it or move on - that’s my stance.
I think New Jedi Order is going to try and jumpstart a new trilogy with new characters - that’s my preemptive prediction.

But why can't they move on? It's been widely accepted that Star Trek had pretty shit series', that even of the good ones there are shit episodes or even entire seasons that suck and that it's been nothing but garbage for a while, with Picard actually being insulting.

Star Wars has way fever hours of good material. Just move the fuck on, dudes! It's okay. It is just a few movies from the 70s. You don't see thousands of Hellraiser ultra fans delude themselves into rationalising the way that franchise went either.

Autism, bro. Pretty obvious. Same reason sonic fans can't move on. Sonic has maybe 4 good games and they're all 2d platformers from the genesis and mega cd days. Everything else sucks except Mania which is more like a fan project sega threw money at.. But sonic fans remain sonic fans.

That is a good point - Trek has three shows with a consistently good output - the only SW show that matches that output is CG Clone Wars - so 3:1 off the bat. (Gendys version can be finished quickly - to the point where it’s damn near a movie).
Aside from that - maybe an occasional good season of an otherwise mid show…that said the Trek movies have never been of great interest to me. Closest I’ve gotten to interested is probably Motion Picture - but even then I’d just as soon watch Solaris or Stalker. Wrath of Khan is fine.
