I've seen tweets that say "Why should we go see the upcoming 'Flash' and 'Shazam' movies if everything's getting rebooted and none of it matters now?"

That's a valid question, I guess, even if it could be rephrased as "Why should we consoom product if there's no next product to consoom?"

These people aren't interested in "The Flash" because they think it might actually be a good movie. They're just hooked into keeping up with with DC Product.

Did continuity ever really matter?
The "proper" cinematic universe is really just Batman vs Superman and Justice League.
Shazam is really the only sub-franchise with more than one sequel, none of which really have much to do with anything else outside of maybe short cameos.
Plus there are like at least three different incarnations of the BatVerse going on. Probably twice that if you count the TV shows.

I read a little of the arguments over the James Gunn thing on Twitter and I mostly came away thinking that I have NEVER felt these emotions that these outraged fans feel.

A true fan would be content with the picture books and the cartoons. There is nothing embiggening about the live-action stuff.

Funny part was that the Flash movie was always going to start a reboot. It's doing the Flashpoint storyline for God's sake. Also people have been throwing hissy fits saying WB should cancel the movie because Ezra Miller is in it. So complaining about watching this movie when the news came out is retarded and peak consoomer.

Dedicating a whole movie to explain/justify your reboot would make more sense if you had returning actors, which they likely won't.
