It really sucks. Canada is so lush with resources but we just sell the rights to the Chinese to do with how they please. If we're lucky they'll hire locally but it should be Cucknadian built industries selling to the Chinese. I believe China bought the rights to one third of our tar sands. A competent country would have built a refinery, refined the oil and sold to China at a competitive price, not just sell crude dirt cheap. Oh well.

Point is, America hasn't had to fight a war on its own soil in living memory of any human being alive today. Let alone a war on our soil in the nuclear age.
