So do I. He's not getting unexpectedly rushed by a foreign force.
He had literal years of deescalating the situation and facing reality
He didn't though. This is something you're not getting. He's a puppet. He doesn't have control of his government. Azov, the CIA and his handler Kolomoisky,
they control his government. Zelensky himself has about as much power as Joe Biden, and like Joe Biden, if Zelensky were ever to get it into his head to deviate from what the people I've just mentioned wanted, he would be eliminated. He tried to get the Azov Nazis in the Donbass to stand down and honour the Minsk agreements and not only did they refuse to stand down, they actually threatened to kill him if he interfered with them further. I daresay the CIA would do the same if he made any real attempts to end this war.
Don't get me wrong, Zelensky pisses me off too, and I particularly despise the way the media fawn and gush over him and make excuses for him. But I feel the same way about Sleepy Joe and we all know he's not in charge either

I don't really blame him for trying to survive, but his attempt to
hold power despite everything is disgusting. For all the shit people gave to the Afghani puppet president, he did the best thing for everybody once it was clear the Taliban were taking over: packed his bags and his millions in kickbacks, and fucked off to exile.
Well Zelensky has done both. He's fucked off to the safety of Poland, probably with steamer trunks full of money, but he's still ordering Ukrainians to fight and die for a pointless war that they cannot possibly win. He's had his cake and eaten it too.
