I guess it's an easy comparison at first glance, since both involve city-building to some extent and feature people running around that you couldn't control directly.
Now the
gameplay on the other hand...

Dark Souls comparisons are to be made by all aspiring game journalists about any games that are too difficult for them.

But also complain about it not having an easy mode and mask it as "accessibility" or some shit.
Because God forbid not every game is for everyone to win.

Since you mentioned masks, how much you wanna bet some D&D groups have a plague scenario and they all wear medieval masks and trust the (((clerics)))

They would if they weren't too afraid to meet and play a game with this pandemic going on, my dude.
But they totally would.

Nobody in D&D cares about diseases since even low-level Clerics render them pointless.

It's because the fandom is being infiltrated by people with a cripple fetish. People have yet to care about their furry bard getting the flu.

Just an example character concept.
Generally, no once cares. Not even the DM - though he might make a brief exemption if there's a Monk in the party so the "Be immune against normal diseases" class ability doesn't feel completely useless.

Paladins have that too, and they can cure diseases with a single stroke of 5 hp from their lay on hands pool. So yeah, running any cool disease is pointless.
