Classic amateur writer error. Instead of starting small to build an audience and a name for themselves (and to work on their craft, of course), they look at shit like Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, see the dollar signs and think that they have to stumble head-first into a multi-book magnum opus that will take half a lifetime to complete.

Thing is that a decent, non-woke, publisher would have told her that. You want to be a writer? Write short stories. Or write one and done novels. I can name so many writers who got their start that way.

Don't think you can just go from zero to fifty instalment sci-fi space opera with absolutely no grounding and no knowledge of how to even write a story.

It's the plural of "numenon", which in turn is a philosophical term for something you know exists, but can't actually perceive.
I hope this is just a pretentious reference to how extraterrestrial life is virtually guaranteed to exist, even if we have effectively no way of finding it thanks to the absurd distances involved.
