Nah, you don't need to be poor or refrain from luxuries to be able to criticize the system, which made you rich in the first place. It's more like: will I take easy money coming my way, while there are people dying from starvation? Sure. Will I be able to recognize how unfair it is? Sure. There's that and then there is going to a gala that costs more for entry than some people earn a year in a dress that's more expensive than many people's car just to virtue signal.

If one really thinks that things are unfair, a better option would've been to use that money for a charitable cause instead. But that's not what she wants. She wants to spend all that money on herself (fair enough) but also signal her virtue. That just doesn't work.
