They've been trying desperately, and failing, to blame all this on Trump since the beginning. But, you see, the position of the neocons and the neolibs in the media is not that the withdrawal was the right idea but Biden's execution was wrong, it's that we shouldn't have withdrawn in the first place. That's entirely on Biden.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 7:56 pmWhen I watched clips of Trump's last rally in Alabama, I thought that a narrative that Afghanistan is all really Trump's fault might gain traction, but I don't know. Sounds flimsy to me, but maybe I lack imagination.
In any case we're seeing in real time how weak leadership in times of crisis can destroy a Presidency, especially one on shaky ground in the first place like Biden's. Even the Labour Party in the UK, the far-left Labour Party, Trump's natural ideological enemies, are starting to say 'Well, at least Trump was attentive'. Apparently you don't even want to hear what the Conservative Party are saying about Biden. UK parliament has held him in contempt. It doesn't get much better amongst other NATO leaders either.
