That's very funny, looking at that from a Kraut perspective. The Bundeswehr usually signs two year contracts. Twelve year ones are rare as hell. Even if you really want to be a military guy all life you'd struggle to get in there.

If you did somehow manage to get a twelve year contract, you better spend that time rising in the ranks. Because if you didn't, they can't wait to toss you the fuck out by the end of it.

Your Kraut army doesn't need a steady supply of bodies to hold in pointless forever conflicts like Afghanistan. American military needs men and needs men not to quit and unfortunately the shittiness of the whole experience guarantees that both are in short supply
