Sounds fine for a first job. At least your working with food in a clean environment. There are much worse things to handle.

Anything where you're working indoors is better than the alternative. Working outside sounds amazing until you realize you're working in a wind corridor during winter, and it just started raining with a purpose. The thing about rain is it's no big deal when you'll be inside before too long. But when you're in it all day, you will not ever get dry. All your clothes get soaked through every layer unless you have waterproof outerwear. Pants are the worst for this.

Eh, that's fine as well. It starts getting bad when you work with anything feces-related or with dead things.

I think I'll learn from your example and simply quit if I'm ever told to shovel shit.Kugelfisch wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 12:11 amEh, that's fine as well. It starts getting bad when you work with anything feces-related or with dead things.

Take note whenever something is described as "technically not shit" because it also means "practically 75% is".

I know not everybody lives in a desert hellscape not fit for white people like I do but I don't know why you'd ever think that.

Work outside usually also means only very minimal customer contact.
After 16 years of working inside a neon-lit cube with barely any windows, I look back very fondly at felling trees in the freezing cold in the middle of winter.

-sometimes the weather is nice and the day is beautiful
-minimal customer contact
-your boss may not even be within 5 miles
-physical labor for them gains
It all sounds good until you realize how shit the weather can get and what a full shift in bad weather will do to you and your clothing.

There is no bad weather, only bad clothing. The only truly shit thing is heat. There's just about nothing you can do about it. But cold and rain are no problem.

Autism attracts more autism. Sooner or later, an internet nobody will attract the exact kind of fans - and detractors - he deserves.
