What exactly is offending you here? This was the 80s. Nobody cared about "offensive" words back in the day, and German movie distributors went out of their way to change movie titles for the sake of changing movie titles (preferably in such a way that the final German title has nothing to do with the original one).

Plus the German tongue once again shows its superiority here, for we have different terms fo American Indians ("Indianer") and Indian Indians ("Inder").
