If only there was a system in which people could own businesses and thus the means of production, instead of the state owning them.

Mmm... what if the government co-operated with the privately owned businesses on large projects that are to the benefit of society? Like removing disloyal sections of the population.

It is fascinating. It reads like a poorly thought parody, but it is real.
Although I think they are not completely wrong there. Latin American people are, in fact, majority in favor of some form of Socialism. Take the example of Venezuela, where they were hoping to replace Maduro with that Guaydo-whatever guy, who was promising them not to get rid of Socialism, but to continue its policies in general lines. I totally believe that, were you to abolish Communism in Cuba tomorrow, the Cubans would revolt at the first attempt to reform the State into a more capitalistic regime. It doesn't matter that the government-owned stuff doesn't work and in fact CAN'T work; they want it to work and FOR FREE.
