Just got done watching Curse of the Pink Panther(eighth in the series). Rubbish film, but man was the ending satisfying.
For context - Pink Panther had originally been made as a heist comedy vehicle for gentleman actor David Niven, until Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau stole the show with his antics. Sellers was subsequently the star of a number of sequels until his death.

In this film, Niven(and Robert Wagner, playing his nephew) reprises the part, and his character finally gets the diamond that he failed to steal 20 years(and seven films ago), as well as top billing. Whilst Clouseau is relegated to a cameo from a hammy Roger Moore.

It was a long time coming.
