Turning it into the Tremors franchise wouldn't work because Tremors always had a sense of humor, whereas people expect Alien to be dark and serious. Alien: Resurrection attempted the goofy monster movie approach, and it was an abomination that no one liked. Also, while everyone likes Ripley, we all know that Disney would do what Joss Whedon did in Resurrection; turn her into a soulless quip machine. Plus Sigourney Weaver is too old to be fighting xenomorphs.

Alien: Resurrection was just a bad movie. But I'm not saying it should become a goofy series anyway. Alien 3 already introduced the idea of the Aliens picking up traits from other animals. So just go with that and keep changing them up a little, as well as the locale.

As for Weaver, the aging thing could have applied to Michael Gross and people still kept going back to see him fight Graboids every few years.

Hamilton's character is arguably consistent with T2. She's a hothead who feels responsible for the whole world. With John murdered, I can totally buy that she'd become a reclusive asshole. Problem is that that story just plain sucks.

I think of it more as The Hill Have Eyes ripoff, same kind of gratuitous shit. I always preferred stuff like Friday or Halloween series. Sure they’re slasher flicks that range in quality per film, but they’re either dumb fun or legit solid depending on which. That reminds me Rush are you familiar with Joe Bob Briggs? He’s got a new show now but I watched Monstervision a lot when I was a teen, he’s one of those guys who I’m surprised the horror community is embracing due to the infiltration of wokening.
