I was reading an article about ep8 today and I'm concerned. The most disappointing thing I read was that there's going to be a "bad ass hacker" character. I hate hackers and hacking in sci-fi, and it really doesn't fit in the fantasy world of Star Wars. Hacking scenes are always people frantically tapping on keyboards and shouting out jargon while a bunch of crap flies around on a monitor. It's so dull and boring.

There are two new Asian female characters. For some reason, Hollywood always seems to hire the ugliest Asian women. There are so many beautiful ones to choose from and they always pick the pigs.

That's what i read in that leak (can't remember if that was this year or next) which also had stuff like Kylo Ren dhowing on Luke's planet, trying to convince Rey that Luke killed her parents and Luke using the force to destroy the hut Rey and Kylo are talking.

Why would they need a hacker character, didn't R2D2 serve this purpose in the OT? What possible advantage would there be to have a human hacker if you could use droids? No matter how bad ass the character is the human interface (eyes, hands) will always be shit compared to some native interface a droid has. Only possibility I would buy, would be some neural interface that the character could make more efficient by using the force, but that is pushing it, then again that would make for a boring scene.

You sure they won't go with the #GiveFinnABoyfriend idea? Better yet, let those Asian Characters be lesbians from the get go and show their relationship the same way as any other relationship, talking to each other like human beings, showing affection without making it a plot point, or making it a big deal for other characters, how's that for a novel concept?

That reminds me, I saw this T-Shirt at Target the other day. I thought it was the Luke/Leia kiss (pictured) at first and laughed. But I think it's supposed to be Han. I think.
