My memory's shit, but I recall he wanted to make a Batman movie before getting put on MOS. Then instead of a sequel or an actual Batman movie, WB forced him to combine them and everyone else so they could hurry up and make their own version of Avengers.

Basically his Superman reboot was shit, but they wanted to get the ball rolling on doing their own Cinematic Universe like Marvel's, so rather than do yet another reboot, they basically shoved Batman into the sequel because Batman sells. That was also shit and way undersold expectations, but they let him do Justice League because he'd already set it up and they wanted to get the ball rolling on doing their own Cinematic Universe like Marvel's. Then his adopted daughter killed herself or something when Snyder was doing post on Justice League so they got Joss Whedon to finish it. The resulting film was again a pile of shit that, again, way undersold expectations. So their Cinematic Universe, like Marvel's, is basically stillborn and considerably worse than Marvel's, which is quite an achievement considering Marvel just remake the same film over and over.
