Whedon is a shit person. He is also half competent as a film maker. He either shows or tells. He doesn't show and tell.

Snyder shows and tells. Over and over and over. The people who say "explains shit" are fucking morons.

Case in point, in the whedon cut, the arrow hippolyta shoots to signal to Diana is literally two scenes. Light the beacon, then shoot the arrow.

That's all you fucking need.

Snyder has them talk about lighting the beacon, then the amazons start a ceremony for shooting the arrow, THEN an explanation about the arrow, THEN shooting the arrow, THEN diana goes to the arrow, THEN she has a tomb raider adventure with the arrow.

For fucks sake, michael fucking bay has more trust in his audience to get shit the first time.

Whedon's cuts aren't only nessasary, but fucking needed, because, again, joss whedon has a core competency that zack snyder never fucking will. Joss ain't even orson welles. It's just a baseline competency. Uwe boll has that fucking level of competency over snyder.

From what you describe it seems like a half competent intern could have made those edits. It's just common sense.

I have no intention of ever watching it but I suspected the movie was a shitpile when I heard it was four hours long. It's not Gone With The Wind, it's not Doctor Zhivago or Lawrence of Arabia. It's a fucking superhero team up movie. The cartoon took what, one and a half hours? To tell basically the same story, and tell it better. Same goes for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Capeshit.

In Snyder's defense, I get the feeling WB and HBO Max wanted him to pad it out as much as possible so they could make it a mini-series kind of event. If he could have added a fifth hour I'm sure they would have loved that.

Ray Fischer scenes added nothing. People keep talking about how they needed these scenes. Bullshit. Why do you need them? This is more a case of thinking like a cat. You know there's a closed door and you want to see what's behind it. There could be a fucking wall behind that door and a cat will still scratch at it. Stop thinking like fucking CATS!

Look at 'Avengers'. There is no long origin scene for Black Widow or Hawkeye. No. one. cared. People only care about Ray Fischer because HE made it racial. Don't fall for that bullshit.
