It's like Snyder is desperately trying to prove to his critics that he's an intellectual auteur, so he's pulling out every "artsy" filmmaking decision he can think of, but without making a genuinely artsy film. He could have the entire film redubbed in French and discard the English audio track to force American audiences to watch his shitshow with subtitles, but that wouldn't change that the movie is about men and women in ridiculous costumes coming together to have a big dumb fight against some PS2 characters.

It's tragic. We'll never get to see the director's cuts of The Magnificent Ambersons or The Lady From Shanghai because the studios destroyed all the footage. But we can get two or three different cuts of Hack Snyder's Justice League no problem

This, plus there are lots of talented filmmakers who get pushed aside or have endless difficulty getting high budget passion projects off the ground, but Warner Bros. were willing to throw tens of millions of dollars at Snyder to reshoot a terrible movie that had already cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

I torrent fullscreen DVD rips of movies on rutracker because I'm too poor to hoard Blu-ray rips.
Old SD masters + fullscreen really cheapens the experience, making everything look made for TV.
