Trump's proposed "Patriot" party will sink like a stone, I think. Trump is definitely a big dick in right-leaning politics right now and I don't think that he's done influencing and causing havoc, but we've seen this third-party story before. Some people get seduced by the idea of an outsider party coming in to shake things up, but attitudes change real quick when that third party gets accused of spoiling elections.

The first Presidential election I voted in was 2000 and Ralph Nader was the cool, young, hipster choice. "We've got to break up this two-party system and kick out these career politicians, man".

And then Al Gore lost to GW Bush by a very slim margin and Nader voters were considered by the Left to be assholes who spoiled the election in favor of the Republicans. We haven't had a serious, high-profile third-party Presidential candidate since. We learned a lesson.

Maybe we'll learn that lesson again in 2024 when President Kamala Harris wins against a divided right.

Or not. I don't know the future. A year ago, I wouldn't have predicted anything happening now.

2022 will be interesting. Trump said that he intends to campaign for his Congressional picks. We'll see how that goes...
