Well yeah of course. Which is more preferable? That all your debt is forgiven but the economy is completely sacrificed to do so and now nobody can do anything -or- a strong economy allows you to pay off your debt and you still have the chance to earn a living and move up in the world that way? This whole assumption from people that "debt can just be forgiven" and that it goes away like magic with no consequence pisses me off. Everybody "pays" eventually.
