I’ve only ever seen that retarded battle scene, and as much as I like Mechagodzilla, there is no way it could defeat the RX-78. One good beam saber swing and you’re fucked, not to mention the beam rifle or hyper bazooka.VoiceOfReasonPast wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 10:53 amAll your missing out are slightly different pop culture references (I think the movie had the OG Gundam instead of Leopardon of Japanese Spider-Man fame) and an atrocious writing style where everything is described in the form of references (that are immediately explained, of course) and characters keep describing their own actions like some sort of out-of-body experience (So a hypothetical "I jacked off to my waifu" would become "I found myself jacking off to my waifu", which I think he only does to pad out his book and make his sentences look more eloquent), both of which become very tiresome very quick.
And did the movie feature Wil Wheaton as POTUS? 'Cause that's a thing in the book.I'm just salty that this most vital of scenes has yet to be animated.

Re: Books
It's even worse in the book, 'cause Leopardon has been memed as the strongest giant robot in toku history (which is of course not the only reason the main protagonist chose it as his mecha of choice).
SpoilerShow
The robot suit got stolen sometime in the first quarter of the Japanese Spiderman's production, and the limited stock footage they had to work with resulted in many fights - including the final battle - where Leopardon would just show up, casually stroll through enemy fire, and then curbstomp the monster.

Re: Books
Oh man, the 372 Pages treatment of Ready Player Two is hilarious.
So the main protagonist has become a thin-skinned, paranoid sociopath, and the one remaining Japanese character needs a translation device because he has apparently forgotten how to speak English (or that could just be a copypasta from Armada, which featured a similar Nihon).
The main character has also adjusted his schedule so he can wake himself up at the exact time as Marty McFly from Back to the Future. With the same song as Marty McFly from Back to the Future, of course.
Also hate speech has somehow declined in this odd near-apocalyptic world where people are literally living online 24/7.

He also shows how little he cares about trolls and haters by having his self-insert waste time killing the avatars of his haters and trolls
