All your missing out are slightly different pop culture references (I think the movie had the OG Gundam instead of Leopardon of Japanese Spider-Man fame) and an atrocious writing style where everything is described in the form of references (that are immediately explained, of course) and characters keep describing their own actions like some sort of out-of-body experience (So a hypothetical "I jacked off to my waifu" would become "I found myself jacking off to my waifu", which I think he only does to pad out his book and make his sentences look more eloquent), both of which become very tiresome very quick.

And did the movie feature Wil Wheaton as POTUS? 'Cause that's a thing in the book.

It's so fucking generic and filled with over-the-top CG bullshit that I wouldn't be surprised if he had some nobody on set calling the shots while he sat at home counting his money. Really, the CA castoffs were on the verge of grabbing Doge by the balls, were it not for Linkara. He's the one that happily went along with all the stupid silliness whole the others wanted to get serious.
