Finally finished The Wire. Jesus, it took me longer to watch the final season than it took to watch seasons 1-4 combined. Seasons 1 and 3 were my favourites, second was really good too. The fourth season was OK, but I really wasn't that invested into that niggers in the school shit and the season did not contain as strong conclusion as the third season. Season 5 was boring, far-fetched and repetitive. It also had the weakest ending of all seasons, the authors of the series apparently didn’t plan it for being the closing season of the series?

About the characters: Way too fucking much of Bubbles! Such a funny-funny junkie-negro might fit to as some comic side-kick character for some Walking Dead level series, not to a serious crime drama. I was waiting from the season 1 when they kill off that clown, no luck for me here, Bubbles hanged around till the very end. Marlo was boring, black-and-white evil villain, the character did not have the same depth as Avon and Stringer had, part of the reason why I didn't like season 4 as much as previous ones. Omar was good in the first seasons, but became a bit repetitive and it also got quite unbelievable how he escaped from a tight situations time and time again, that didn't fit in the world of The Wire.

Overall, it was enjoyable to watch and I can see why some consider this as one of the best crime drama series there is, but I would have liked the series more if it had ended in the third season. Fifth season was shit.

His death was about right though.

Omar is actually based on a real guy. Him jumping out of the building and breaking his legs but getting away? That really happened.
It's romanticized for TV, of course, but not entirely made up either.

Started Warrior on Cinemax, its really working so far, a marriage of kung fu and crime with some real western vibes.

Its based off of some writings of Bruce Lee, I doubt its an especially faithful adaptation but I like it. The main guy doesn't talk like a Kung fu protagonist, he seems like a Clint Eastwood character often.

DHI is proof you can be both a massive homosexual and a virgin. They're not exclusive. If you display both in large enough quantities you can qualify for mod status.

Bruce Lee was a dope smoking junkie who tried for years to make a porno starring James Coburn. I can't imagine any fiction he wrote was worthwhile unless it's been seriously rewritten to the point that it's unrecognizable as his.

I actually once knew a guy who jumped from the fifth floor of his apartment on asphalt (a speed freak), didn't die, but spent the rest of his days in a wheelchair till he ended himself. Happy end.

Its set in the 1800's and doesn't resemble anything he'd have ever written about.

Most probably so. All I know the wheelchair couldn't sleep and was always paranoid.

He was trying to get a kung fu western on TV in the 70s. Warner Bros stole his idea and made Kung Fu with David Carradine.
