Re: God Emperor Megathread (Trump and his presidency)
The Atlantic article that everyone is talking about it is so silly. It's full of horrendous, damning accounts of Trump's attitude toward military vets. He comes off as a total monster. And the sources for everything are all anonymous. Not one name is attached to any of them.
On its own, the article is tabloid-level junk, but then there's the old video of Trump ripping into John McCain. On its own, the video is a little spicy ("I like people who weren't captured"), but nothing in it is newsworthy years later. It's just Trump talking shit about a political opponent in that "insult comedian" style that he has, something he's done a million times.
What I think happened is that media anti-Trumps found the video and saw potential in it to portray Trump as looking down on military vets. From there, they constructed this fiction around it.
The tactic sorta worked because it's put Trump on the defensive, but I just don't know who's buying these "quotes" about military casualties being "losers" and "suckers" who didn't ALREADY hate Trump.

Re: God Emperor Megathread (Trump and his presidency)
Most Americans hated John McShit. They certainly hated him on election night in 2008, where Obama won in a landslide. It's pretty stupid to try and gaslight the vets by tying him in with them seeing as the only thing McShit ever did for them was get the Vietnam POW records sealed, thereby preventing the families from finding out what happened to their loved ones, all so that the American public would never find out that he aided and abetted the enemy in exchange for good treatment. The only people who hated John McShit more than Trump and the general American public is the US military.

Nah you are being nice and naive. Everyone already knew about the McCain quote since he did that a couple of years. I think even as President is when he did it.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2020 2:39 amThe Atlantic article that everyone is talking about it is so silly. What really happened is that the Biden Campaign and the corrupt US media teamed up together to make this fake news for an election ad. That's why the ads dropped within hours of the report.
The funny part is that everyone denied it. Even Bolton who wrote a book to bash Trump was like WTF are you talking about.
The issue is that they are panicking. They pushed the timeline for the surprises. After the Kung Flu Panic didn't work the way the wanted, they pushed the riots ahead of schedule. Now that everyone is turning against the riots, they needed something else and this was it.
P.S. To any fucktards in the planet who go like Fox News confirmed as well, remember they were the first news organization to go after him in the primaries in the debates. People remember the epic "Only Rosie O'donnell" line when responding to calling women pigs but forget that Megyn Kelly's job directly from Murdoch was to go after Trump. So them bullshitting about Trump isn't a surprise.

Ha, that story was patently fake on its face. I ignored the whole thing, wrote it off as obviously fake and it turns out I was correct to do so. I think a lot of people have probably done the same.

Pretty much. Trump and McCain had a well-known political conflict and that's what led to the exchange of insults.Lindsay's Liver wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2020 2:39 amI just don't know who's buying these "quotes" about military casualties being "losers" and "suckers" who didn't ALREADY hate Trump.
The idea that Trump had some sort of animus toward World War 1 casualties is patently ridiculous. What would be the motivation for such feelings? The Battle of Belleau Wood happened 28 years before Trump was even born. You need to have total TDS for the story to make any sense.

I was going to say he's a stud compared to that soy-filled comic but haha they're not even really married. It's one of those hippie relationships where they live together and have kids but refuse to actually get married because that's religious and American and something Ronald Reagan would do.
