The Dems are putting it all on their VP pick and they might not want to go for someone who couldn't even win the nomination in their own right and has been tainted by the political process in the process.

Trump worked in Hollywood for years. He rubbed elbows with plenty of ethnic minorities and homosexuals. I don't think he's legitimately racist or homophobic. If anything, I suspect he leans left on social issues. But he won the Republican nomination and was forced to take Pence. One might be able to argue for his administration imposing socially conservative, "sexist" or "homophobic" policies. But as an individual, I don't think Trump is racist or homophobic. He may view women as sex objects, because he's been rich for much of his life and women around him were probably more than happy to objectify themselves to get into his pocketbook. People act like that shit never happens. He has a trophy wife and an obvious hairpiece because he's shallow and materialistic, but I don't think even he would dispute that.
