I would help pibb with the comics as long as there's a writer for it. I have my own personal project that I'm slowly working on that I'm very limited in at the moment since that student refund check hadn't came back yet and because of certain circumstances I have no job, and the ones that are up call for managerial experience, something I'm sort of lacking in.

But yeah we have plenty of times where we say fuck it and rage quit and want to be alone just to cool off.

Yup. I won't deny that I was a dick. It was intentional but maybe a bit overboard. He just reacted overly strong to that whole situation over what I perceived as basically nothing and didn't really explain very well why.

Yeah, something to that effect. I mean, you guys know he was one of the more positive guys here. Which is why it's funny that his post on Dobson is the one that triggers this as that was unusually angry for him.
But he was not doing super well for a couple of times in his life and thus didn't want to be in a negative mindset after that any longer. That was before DHI even. So "seen some shit" is quite fitting in a way.
Drama on DHI targeting him, even if benign, was something he plain didn't want in his life. It's not like we left in bad blood but the experience left him stressed out and he decided it was best to take a break from the internet entirely. Not the worst decision I've seen.

The fact is, even really retarded bullshit internet drama can affect you IRL. If you're already dealing with shit IRL or have dealt with enough in the past it can be quite powerful. I have sympathy for that. I'm not writing a blank cheque for INs here. Tyler's eternal tweet is still completely true:


But it does involve walking away from the screen. So that's what he did. Not that he felt overly bullied but he felt bad enough about the experience that he just took that advice and decide shit wasn't worth getting worked up over.
The sperg in me is too strong for that. I've had plenty of people here that thought I was just the worst fucker around. I've had dedicated posters that would do nothing but shit on me.
I've said stupid shit, often drunkposting, that I'd regret the next day. I've been an outright asshole several dozens of times - the interrogation of OBM being one of them - but I've ultimately decided that it didn't matter.
Because it really doesn't.

I already don't hold grudges for very long IRL. Doing so online is absolutely pointless. If you create and fuel a board culture where shitting on everyone is fair game you need to be able to take it as well. But you also need to be able to let old shit go. We're not an image board but we're culturally quite close to it. The entire point of anonymous posting is that you are judged by what you say and nothing else and that it's short term shit. That you can voice your current opinion without being held back by past opinions of yours.
We don't have that in full effect here but I think it's largely understood and agreed upon by most here that DHI isn't serious business. If you want to think I'm a stupid fucker, that's alright. If you want to tell me I'm a stupid fucker no matter what I say, that's alright with me as well. I'm a namefag so that's the consequence of that. But that doesn't mean I have to think you're being reasonable.
Likewise, I don't like ASS but when he speaks the truth I don't just disagree with him because he's ASS. And if I get told off by people because I agree with ASS then that's alright as well. In the end it all works out. That's what I truly believe.

But if that's too stressful for you because DHI is just your meaningless shitposting place and don't want to deal with that serious aspect of it I can understand that just as well.
Again, I hope he returns. I think somebody like him is very healthy to our board culture. I can think of at least five more users. But for some this isn't fun or they don't consider any of this vital and I understand that not everyone is as involved in this as I am and that's perfectly fine.

I just hope that this makes sense to at least a few people.

I’m sure there’s no bad blood. If I had to wager I’d say there was probably something seriously heavy IRL. I mean I’d trounce someone like Dobson too it given a chance, but that level of dislike seemed more out of disgust. Looking back at that stupid thread I figure he was already in the low state and that random fagnut trying to get him to dish on a guy who he’d seemingly lost respect for but parted ways with was that moment where you realize you have to put some distance between you and life.

I know from personal experience, once I pulled away from a community that was a tad harder than DHI when I found out my uncle was dying. They didn’t catch his cancer and he died fast and hard, but it felt like time went to a stop. After that I took a trip across the country and let myself decompress. He’ll probs pop in one day like a crazy son of a bitch and make us kektacular.
