Mostly D, but he does have a mind of his own somewhat and will vote R if the D is completely incompetent or if he has a personal grudge with them. But he's also completely henpecked and if my mom demands he vote for somebody (like Hillary), he will do it.

Trump's response may not have been ideal in the early stages, but almost nobody has had an "ideal" response to the virus. Only South Korea did, and then only because they've had practice with SARS before this. Nobody knew exactly how things would shake down and nobody knows how they will end up now. First they were saying that warmer weather would reduce cases, but now I'm hearing they've pushed that back a month, from mid-April to mid-May. And plenty of countries haven't even begun to tackle their corona cases (Mexico, islamic nations, etc) and are about to get well and truly fucked from it.

I don't really know what democrats expected trump to do. Lock down the entire country? We're already in unofficial lockdown with most non-essential services stopped or delayed massively. Trump wants to get business moving again because he's on the Republican ticket and a sitting president can't just let the american economy be shit for an indefinite period. So I'm sure he's looking for an "out." But there probably won't be one until a lot of the contagious people pass the virus and recover, which could be a while. I mean, it's a bad situation all around. People can't pay for shit if they can't work and the government probably can't afford to bankroll the workforce forever. Nobody is doing "well" in this situation. Except the cretinous news media, whose ratings are no-doubt skyrocketing from all their doomer fearmongering, continuous coverage and nonstop propaganda.

The real fault here lies with China's medieval approach to animal harvesting and failure to enforce anti-poaching laws. The fact they're already reopening the wet markets just goes to show how unrepentant the CCP is about the whole thing.
